here's the sparknotes:
good ways to start:
- make something you really hate/love (at the end of the day it doesn't matter you'll love them all the same).
- exaggerate as much as you can get away with so people know exactly what this character is for
- if its comically stupid/cliche lean into it so hard that you forget what you were even trying to make in the first place
- dont be afraid to thieve off other designs (imitation is the best form of flattery also you'll buff it out later)
finishing touches:
- big hair/hat.
- forget to give them backstory (then daydream about the entire thing later)
- make it unique, not to other people's ocs, but unique to your own.
most importantly and absolutely necessary:
- make it you.
(note that designs can also be rehashes from months or even years ago.)
