Why I use Wise (formerly known as Transfer Wise) : it may be more intended for bigger companies, but it welcomes freelancers equally. My transfer fees went from 10-20% to 90 cents and sometimes free for in-country exchanges. Their research for disputes is more in-depth even if it takes longer. It's not as quick as Paypal, but it's very much worth it. You do NOT NEED AN WISE ACCOUNT to pay me!!!! Ain't that great???
Note: European laws require extra fees for international banking, this is still cheaper for me with Wise than Paypal.
Regarding privacy, it's equal to PayPal. You don't need to use an email however, though I only take payments through email, this is so if there are mistakes during the payment process, the email can be sent to Wise to sort things out.
If I don't need an account to pay, how does it work?: Well, basically it's bank transfers! But I can't see your bank number or country of origin, neither can you for me. Though I'm a verified account! You'll be told on the payment page what to do, you get my Wise bank number and an FAX code. Follow the instructions! It's quite easy honestly, but I'm happy to help step-by-step for the first time. As far as I know, no country is barred from paying like this (Not all countries can make Wise accounts however) This may be instantly or take a bit longer.
Wish (hah) to tip me? Tell me upfront! When I make a payment page, it's fixed* and I'd have to manually adjust it. TIPS OVER 10 EURO get a free surprise sketch related to your adopt/commission!
*Note: I have not tested yet what happens if you pay more than the fixed price, I should email about that...
