I want to hear your thoughts on...
Hey guys, I've been thinking of trying some things out this summer and I'm curious to hear what your thoughts on the subject are.
1) What do you think about the auctions without an auto buy? Would you participate in such one? Why yes/not?
2) What about the auctions, where AB is not added from the very beginning, but is added later on?

Second one would feel a little weird though. Mostly because I like having all the info upfront. Auto buy is hardly ever an option for me since I don’t make a lot of money, but I support artists making bank so I get why it exists.
1) No, mostly I don't bid because the prices are to high for me.
2) I can't really say but it would be sad because of the people which want to bid higher. I mean possibly.
2. That could be interpreted as being dishonest. Putting in an auto buy after bidding starts is modifying the conditions of the auction, and honestly you couldn’t fault a person from withdrawing if you put an auto buy in after the start of the auction. They might have bought it right out if that was there, but they might also not have been drawn into a bidding war if it was there. If that happened on an auction I was involved in I’d note the artist, and tell them I’m withdrawing my bids. (Blacklisting wouldn’t be a concern as I probably wouldn’t go after one of their auctions again.) This will also piss off my opponent and they might justifiably withdraw as well. They could also demand a lower price because it might not have gone past $X.
About the second take, wow, that's rough D: I saw artists doing that and I thought that was okay, like, what if they didn't want to draw for a higher price? I know some artists in person who would've thought their art wasn't worth that much and would even have felt guilty and thought they were overpricing themselves. I personally don't agree with that kind of approach but I know why at least some people do it. They usually put AB's right away or make fix priced YCH's.
Auto buy vs no auto buy- you could have a “reserve price”, number of bids or something where auto buy becomes unavailable. So let’s say you have a start of $140, and after it reaches $200 then autobuy isn’t allowed anymore. (Or after 5 bids for example)
Communication is key and the bidder knowing what the conditions are before bidding.
