www.picasa.com should help. It scans your computer, finds every file, lets you search them and edit them quickly... but most importantly for your needs, it has a mode which finds all duplicates so you can delete redundant copies. That is, if they're the exact same file (except for name and metadata). So if it's an image from fchan, VCL, an artist's website and FA, just under different names and locations, it'll find 'em.

ok, thanks for the recommendation, but I had to delete the program.
I counted over100 scrolls withh the mouse scroll, and I have so much stuff, there isn't even a side scroll bar.
Ima do it manually.

With 40k+ images I can't use the scroll ball or wheel either, but as far as eliminating duplicate images, it's immensely faster. Also it's great for locating pictures you forgot you had, putting them in categories, searching for everything by one artist, etc etc.

379mb of images, including animations (zomgbbqtastesgood, furry pron animations!) - there are probably, of which, around 3% are replicas because trying to sort through all of it is just a nightmare! Categorizing everything you're getting in on a daily basis can be stressful, so I have a heap of unsorted folders, but usually I try to save based on image quality. ;)

To clarify on that, over 2,000 pics! And this ain't just random internet regular, it's furry.... *drools* :p

By quality do you mean image quality or content quality? I manually touch up images to have image quality, and only keep stuff which is content quality that works for me :0

I use ACDSee v5 to view images. It has a great feature that searches for duplicate files anywhere on your system (regardless of file name changes) and displays them so you can delete the ones you don't want. There are probably other apps you can get that can help you do the same thing.

I didn't know a journal complaining about porn would prove to be useful in the quest for a tidy porn collection.

ACDSee also finds duplicate video files. :)
