Parents have once again headed out on another short vacation. They had to break up their normal 2 month vacation into two 3 week vacations due to doctor appointments. However, it hasn't stopped them from being a massive PAIN in my side. Last month they had shingles on the roof replaced, I was the only one home and the only one that was put at a mild inconvenience of the 6am wake up calls for 3 days. They had finished the same day my parents returned. This time, I have to deal with the pool cleaners. They dragged their feet after they got home to deal with yellow mold that managed to get a hold in the pool. Waits till the week before leaving to even bother calling them, by then the pool is just an algae infested pool. It was just beyond gross. As I'm typing this, they had just finished draining and scrubbing everything down. Now it's slowly refilling.
I took some time from that headache to deal with another annoyance. For the last few months there had been an uptick in the encounters with what I thought were just gnats. Turns out they were carpet beetles. No major signs of an infestation, but I had always seen them around in small numbers over the years, just squashed them and went about my day. Seems some of my really old clothes had been turned into their little breeding ground. However, none of the clothes I looked over had holes, so I might had been lucky catching them when I did. Least they are harmless, but still going to rewash everything and vacuum as much as I can. Not much else I can really do about them, but just take my time and vacuum every so often. Threw out the old clothes I didn't want or need, washing everything else. Dryer set to high heat instead of medium so that if they were there, they won't be there for long.

Carpet beetles are horrible. My yarn has infestation I've been trying to get out with some success, but until I actually toss it out, I don't think it'll be gone. In the meanwhile, I squish any beetles that I come to contact with.
