No, Green! AI isn't ever a good thing at all, many people creates beautiful works throughout their own imagination. Everything takes time for a reason, because things can not be rushed. Patience is what rewards, due to the essence of time and efforts.

My imagination doesn't give me the result I wish. I'm not very patient person really. I use ai for personal artwork with ocs only, just to watch old arts in old age and say "I'm not regret about it". Like I want to have more arts with all my ocs, to make their stories true. Ai helps me to save time and well I don't stress much, but enjoy the process.

You are right, and I am personally against it (THANK YOU DEVIANTART YOU SCANDAL!) but there is just one thing. If you can't imagine something you may have to write it out on ai and redraw the thing again. But it's only something that is a theory and I've never used AI for my own drawings. But I shouldn't recommend it even now since it's scandalizing our own works; and I forgot to mention that....

In the current state of things, no it isn't.

I'd be perfectly fine with AI if the training data for it was ethically sourced, instead of techbros stealing shit from other people like they did already in the past with crypto and NFTs.

Shit even the name of AI is misleading as hell. If that shit was even close to "Intelligent", it wouldnt need so much data that belongs to someone else before making anything coherent.

It's a both yes and no. What it should be used as is an imaginational thing; not a creativity thing. So it can open up what you wanna draw in a more creative fashion; for example: when you are thinking of a really cool monster you wanna sketch out the idea but you realized that won't work since you can't draw what you imagine the monster would look like. So you write it out on an ai platform and it show you what you imagine in a even cooler fashion, which can cause you to start all over and redrew what has been shown in a more professional, creative and better works. I am against AI due to it's slander and scandal on DeviantArt, but I do thought it could be used for imagination instead...

In theory, maybe. Sometimes it's useful when I need to quickly visualize something for sake of refining a description. It's occasionally useful for brainstorming when I need something that'll just ask me to explain things in detail for world building. However, I've gotten along fine without it for a long time now, and I enjoy writing, so I'm not going to lean too heavily on it.

In practice: No, not really. In my opinion, art is an inherently human process and having a machine generate images or text is a fundamentally different thing. We should be using automation for tedious things, not as a replacement for people expressing themselves. Furthermore, the current approaches to AI require using large amounts of data (almost always) without the consent of the people whose data is being used. They also require an unconscionable amount of electricity to train and run, such that Google have recently walked back some of their clean energy pledges.

Also, don't forget that the quality of AI outputs are dubious. While the models have improved at a rapid pace, there are still obvious flaws in most of them. Stable Diffusion still mangles hands and feet and is hard to direct precisely. ChatGPT has several phrasing quirks and spits out obvious nonsense. Code-generating tools typically produce code that is of such poor quality that developers spend more time debugging and fixing it than they would've spent writing it from scratch.

To correct tiny mistakes? Yes. To make art from nothing or just stealing it fromsomeone elses source material? No. Also purely relying on AI to do all the work is also a no in my book. Given its sourced often from online sources and could have been the source of someone using someone elses art as a type of template. Easily getting the users of said AI in trouble for plagerism given that the art style may very well be stolen and used in making said AI. I'd be careful.
