Just wanted to provide a huge update that I've recently went through the hurricane beryl situation due to living in the lower right parts of Texas: It was as bad as you expected it.

Luckily, I only experienced category 1 of the storm. But even then, the aftermath was devastating enough to cause my internet, lights, and even phone data to not work for four days straight (five if you wanna include the start of the hurricane incident). As you can imagine, I couldn't write much and I was overall frustrated and miserable during the whole ordeal.

Now that the lights and such has returned, I hope things will go smoothly moving forward as a writer. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day, too! Stay safe and awesome out there!
