My thoughts on Chabble Item Contest

So I waited to the result of Chabble contest, before giving my reasoning behind my votes and why some of them I didn't choose them. But first of all, congrats to the winners and the lucky pickers. A lot of them where actually really good pick and original. I applause with my two hands. But now here, why I vote them and why some didn't ring a bell for me. I'll be fair I will pick 3 of them I didn't pick them, and at the end I tell you how I feel about this contest. To be faire I tried to pick them as said on the rules, the item must be useful and can be a thing for a game. Not based on the art style.
My first pick) As you may know I didn't pick mine because I feel it was fair to not picked mine and I wasn't feeling a bit selfish. So my first pick was oriented to one is the closest to mine and I end up with the Ram-ushroom from Sachasketchy. Which work pretty much like mine, but nerfed on ground. Both of them give the strength to charge and destroyed everything on the way as long they keep charging. The only difference was the Power Scale gives a sixth sens able to track down hidden thing and ennemies. Maybe that's why mine didn't get has much attention water level most of the time sucks, you are slowed down and you can't do much to defend yourself. Eh it was fun to bring it back tho and expanding the reasoning of it.
My first not pick) I'm surprise it got in the personal pick but I guess I was wrong. The Spliced Flower from Average Fan Enjoyer was a not picked for me. But the reason behind was simply because it was feeling like a duplicate for a an Ice and Fire Flower. Maybe in a RPG game ? Yeah I say that but there like 14 items allowing Mario to fly 3 of them allow him to get bigger... I'm the one to talk XD Yeah finally I see why it a personal pick who cares if they are duplicate Nintendo dose that already. Heh I'm just glad no one has thought of flying kind of item. Because for sure I woouldn't picked this one X)
My Second pick) It goes for the Wick Shroom by RoBoGween. I must admit, seeing an item it's only purpose working in haunted house which is a reccurent them in the Mario game, give this item an unique twist. Being able to destroye those almost immortal Boos, was really a well thought one. I'm not the only one on this one. Perfect item for speedrun purpose. If the item don't slow down too much :3c No really, this one makes its way for how usefull it might be.
My Second not pick) The Rotom Berry from BendySans good joke, good easter egg but that's it ^^; I don't think it was a bad pick for an electric base item... but it's sole purpose was only be an Easter Egg... eh. Can't add much about why it's just the thougth was weak... ^^;
My Third pick) This last one didn't make in but personnaly I think it has potential. And this item is the Miasma Flower by DragalgeStar. My reasoning from this come directly from Super Mario Wonder. I remember this level where you pick a wonder flower and it gives you the possibility to swim in lava, or In mario Odyssey which if capture a Lava Bubble you can swim in. Yeah I was loving my moment there. Well this is pertty much the same thing but for poison. Which it's not a rare thing in Mario Games, so I picked that one because it could be fun if in one Mario games it gives you the power to swim at the same time in water in poison and in lava. Maybe it's overpower but gosh it can be cool :3c
My third not pick) Another straightforward not pick and self explanatory. The Bunny Suit from Eclipse Knight, cute drawing, cute bunny, but didn't give much to what this item can do... or what potential it have... and that's what stop me to pick this one. Maybe it was what we look at a bunny ability ? And I was too dumb to not get it ? It was just meh because it didn't explain much what it can do. A lot of those contest item even with one image it giving enough information to tell us what this power is... but not this one except being cute.
In the end it still was a fun contest, I will gladly participate again. I don't mind bringing my Toadette in the Chabble's univers and giving her mixing in the process. I think I will try to keep this trope of a 9 panel comic explanation it was a fun challenge for myself to give alot of information in a really small limited space. Maybe one day I will ask them doing a collab mix Mario universe. It might be fun who knows ? So that's pretty much it of my thought and reasoning for this contest. So see y'all tomorrow for the usual schedule post. I might try to finish one more piece before tomorrow but there is at least on ready to published so you might have something ready. See you soon !
