I'm pretty certain I fit into the category of “proshippers.” I understand that the relationship between Judy and Jerry is highly controversial, and I acknowledge that incest is indefensible in real life. However, I want to clarify something. Proshippers universally agree that "fiction affects reality," but we recognize that this influence isn't a direct 1:1 correlation. What does this mean?
Simply put, fiction impacts your emotions and feelings. Watching horror makes you frightened, comedy makes you laugh, reading fluff brings happiness, and angst evokes sadness. Certain genres of fiction provide a way to explore scenarios that shouldn’t happen in real life without influencing your moral compass. For example, playing Grand Theft Auto doesn’t turn you into a criminal, playing RimWorlds doesn’t make you a war criminal, playing Dead by Daylight doesn’t make you a killer, and watching Scream doesn’t make you want to murder people.
Fiction can affect morality if someone is mentally unstable, unable to distinguish fiction from reality, or too immature to handle NSFW or morally ambiguous content. In such cases, intervention from parents, schools, hospitals, and other adults is necessary. This, however, is not a justification for harassing others online because you can’t manage your own mental health by avoiding triggering content and engaging only with topics you can critically evaluate.
But in the end, someone is always offended. The people who matter, don't mind. The people who mind, don't matter.

Personally, I say “projection is the most common form of admission”, people who make a big deal out these kind of things are more or less admitting that they themselves can’t separate fiction from reality and should honestly seek help in that case. Then again, I’m probably preaching to the choir.

Arguably, one of the least observed laws by the followers of the scripture from which this quote has been taken. And by people in general; To be honest, I have caught myself in flagranti a lot of times not obeying this simple but good rule...
1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
It mean if we judge others, we are to judge righteously. We are to judge based on the word Of GOD(YHVH). It does not mean that we are not to judge at all. If your going to use it, please use it correctly.
I also consider God to be a fiction created in our image, and often used by The Church to instill fear in us and manipulate us.
The idea of the Christian God being the one true interpretation of what "God" can be seems ridiculous to me.
Not to mention all of the pure evil and violence done and still being done in Christianity's name.
There are many other bible verses that address this idea as well.
To be fair though, the bible is full of contradictory statements. If you want to, you can find something there to support almost anything.
Diacritics to write vowels in Hebrew (niqqud) were invented not sooner than fifth century AD. Before that a lot of spellings were dependent from spoken tradition, which is naturally viable to changes. Thus when these diacritics were finally written, they were already in their own way a kind of interpretation. Than, translations from Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic are also very treacherous a lot of times and on themselves can provide completely different interpretations dependent on the choice of words made by a translator. Let's also consider that Jesus spoke his words in Aramaic, so anyway the "original" Greek koine text of new testament is already a translation of its kind made by the apostoles, who also weren't almost ideal "transitors" of Yehoshuah's words as if visible from multiple differences in their narrations. And, finally to apply different statements of Bible into practice, sometimes hardly properly understandable without historical context, also requires consensus and further interpretations. Then, naturally, there always will arise ambiguities, since not all the complicated situations in real life can be easily categorized, and thus arises a need for creation of an interpretator, a priest, an imam/qadi or rabin who will discern what is "right" and what is "wrong" based on his own limited knowledge and imperfect human perception. So, everything tranferred from the scriptures' prescription into reality is an interpretation of interpretations based on another interpretations. Why the only God would choose such a shaky way like written language to convey his commandments onto humanity is a great mystery to me.
To my understanding, the books of the new testament were all written after the death of Jesus, and therefore interpretations of what he may actually have said and done. It's unlikely that many if any of the writers actually knew him. Some of those texts were probably written a hundred years or more after his death. Those books weren't even chosen and collected into what we consider to be the bible until around 500 AD.
And since then, all of the bible has been further interpreted, for both good and bad, by almost only men with various entirely human agendas.
Because of this it strains credulity that this is the "True Word Of God", or of Jesus.
Any real idea of "God" is ultimately ineffable, and open to personal interpretation by each of us.
I find the bible to be a fascinating cultural artifact and collection of stories and allegories, no more. How could humans presume or hope to capture the true word of God, let alone what that may be? We're only human, after all.
Meanwhile, I think, it's a very neat social role of imagination, that one can project their strange or kinky ideas onto paper, and even into some kind of art, instead of ejecuting them in reality. Such fetishesh, anyway, a lot of times shouldn't be taken too "literally".
(And probably I particularly have to be tolerant about others' kinks, because my own are also strange in a lot of ways lol).
Some people just like to be "moral defenders", perhaps it gives them some additional dynamic value to their life and a feeling of self-acomplishment in playing a particular "role". But life is not a crusade against anyone or anything to be so sensitive about the realms of someone else's imagination... : )
For example, I have labeled you as a beautiful young lady, but I don't know you. I don't know if you're a lady, or a dominatrix who enjoys tormenting your bf\gf. None of my business.
Just because that person does said thing fictionally, doesn't mean that they have intentions of doing it, in real life. I have no problem with what people are into. It's just other people need to realize that it's not hurting them. It's just those people looking for a reason to sit and complain like manchildren and look for some reason to throw them in jail or worse.
What I'm saying is, I understand where you're coming from and I can relate to the situation. People can't go one second with someone sitting on the edge of their chair and throwing assumptions into the mix.
If someone wants me to write a story for them with some really questionable, but not illegal kinks, that's fine. Do I think they're a freak? No. I'm a freak, I like just about every kink in the book to some degree. Does that me wanna go out and inflate people with blueberry juice, tie them up in a basement and do lewd things to them, or some other questionable kink?
No
Not even to mention that most of them can't even be done because they're fictional ones, but those that could be done are just not in my wheel house to pursue. It's hot to read, but not fun to do.
There's a very basic rule; if you don't like something, instead of complaining or hassling someone, just move on.
No doubt I'm preaching to the choir here, though.
What if Chuck Tingle (wild example) included it? Again, fantasy, for fun, not real.
I know it's an old topic now but I just had to add this bit
I don't know what's with people these days but I sure as hell could care less what people think negatively about me or what I'm into. Of course, draw the line in which you know not to cross. Just wish people would take realization in that.
At some point in the 2010s, this was no longer acceptable, so the ones who perpetuated it in the first place realize they could keep it alive for a little while longer if they transformed it into something similar. Now it was "everything I don't like is oppressive and harmful to society, and everyone who likes it is, for all intents and purposes, a bad person" (both of these were encapsulated into the word "problematic").
Keep that up for long enough and in the faces of enough young, inexperienced, impressionable people, and you've got your antishippers.
plus people today use mommy and daddy / babygirl babybooy in the bedroom or in the relationships in general and thats pretty damn closse to being incest territory.
This shouldnt be a problem for adults that can separate their life from their fantasy.
Honestly it does feel like a lot of people are unable to distinguish fantasy from the real world nowadays, when when the reasons of such are verbally explained or written down for others to take notice. Somehow, someone is always gonna be offended despite the material is merely for the artist's entertainment or for storytelling.
