pretty sure that might be the case with my father. He can be negative, toxic, always find fault with everything and wanting control. He makes it very clear about this to everyone (including once when we came from the 2021 tree lightning),

He's actually gotten worse since my brother died. Sorry If I bummed you, I just thought your statement was accurate and wanted to give an example. I've been fighting tooth and nail to remain upbeat, positive and see the silver lining.

I hope that somehow you can maintain a positive relationship with him, and grow for the better despite some flawful behaviour.

I'm not sure. He's faked being changed so many times, and he's still pulled some tricks like attempting to turn people against me.
