This website, and by association Dragoneer, have been a part of my life for longer than any other single platform I've spent time on. It has helped me find my people; I've made friends, found exploration of self, and brought me into the community.

There's much to be said about the failings of the system that allowed this fate to befall Dragoneer. And I know there's much that people have to say about the man himself, or the quality of the site and its engineering.

For the moment though, I think all of that should be put on the back burner, just for now. It's important to take a moment to acknowledge the losses in a community, whether they be humble members, coordinators, or pillars of the community.

Tonight, I have a silent toast to Dragoneer; what he created has helped me and so many others, and brought us together in a world so splintered.
