Roadmap for Smilodon Studio

Why are you reading this? The good stuff is below!
Hey everyone!
It's been quite a summer, but things are starting to wind down and I'm going to be settling in for a long fall and winter of working and creating writing and such. As such, one thing that I wanted to do was be thankful for everyone who has been supporting me with commissions, buying my books, and so on. It's been an enormous help and with costs going up it's the only thing that's been keeping me from raising up my prices for commissions to keep them as affordable as possible. Now that I've moved into webcomics, though, it's more important than ever to put up things like this, raising support for raising ambitions.
With the webcomic project starting to push into pages entering more into the public space and showing off what we're working on, City of Origins already having a few pages with Network Integration right behind and Moonrise/Identity Crisis catching up quick, but I really would like to keep expanding this project. Unfortunately with the four I have and one in the wings that I'm budgeting for I reached the limit of what I can support. That being said I want to make a big push and am hoping that I can get some more support between Patreon and Subscribstar.
That's why I'm looking to grow them to 5k.
Why the sudden push? The big reason is because I want to keep growing the webcomic project. The thought of having a means to update here or a webside once or twice a week without risking artist burnout is something that I really want to try, and while we're up to about once a week for the various pages I would love to push more. Also with current expenses mounting I need to build more to also accomadate for things like book covers (game stuff is covered through TTaP), and also growing expenses to keep my commission prices down. The reason for moving to webcomics is a number of reasons:
- It's quicker to create a comic script then write a commission. While I very much enjoy writing I've been having to take on more and more words as well as expand my Iron Pen. If this webcomic project took off then I could back away from doing such strenuous work and maybe even Iron Pens all together.
- It helps furry artists. Long term projects are usually quite benefitical to the artists involved, and I'm sure the four that are currently working with me can appreciate knowing that they have a guarenteed commissioner for at least one page a month.
- People enjoy comics very much. In today's fast paced world it's hard to sit down and enjoy a story, much less a book, so I want to move into a medium that I think a lot of people would appreciate while still leaving myself time to write.
- It provides me with variety for conventions. I sell mostly books at cons, but having some comics there I think would be great to break up that and the candles that I sell which I make as a hobby.
There are other reasons too, but those are the big ones. So I want to put this out here as a means of showing where my patreon money is going and hopefully get more people interested. While the $20 tier has the webcomics as well as the games, stories, polls, and cameos there are plenty of options on lower tiers in order to support this project as well as my endeavors. Every little bit helps and is appreciated and if we get to 5k that would free up a ton of time and bandwith on my end as it would mean an official end to the Iron Pens (though I may do a week or so here and there if I have a big project or backlog I want to get done quick).
So TL;DR I want to thank all those that have supported me, and with my expanded audience and new project I'm hoping to bring in some new eyes to help fund more projects from more furry artists! Also for our ruby sabrewolves the price doesn't go up but you'll get more pages if we can get to that benchmark, so more bang for the buck.
