[In honor of Natlan coming to Genshin Impact, here is a special Tale of Teyvat involving Shredder, his tribe, and how he lost it.]



*in Inazuma, Shredder and Ikari were in Inazuma city, grabbing a bite to eat*

Ikari: Hey, Shredder. I never asked. What was your tribe like?

Shredder: My tribe?

Ikari: Yes. You say you're from Natlan. You MUST come from a tribe.

Shredder: *sighs* Alright...I'll tell you.

*a flashback is shown to a group of Mobian sharks*

Shredder: (V.O.) My tribe...wasn known as Cipactli. Our title was the Sharks of the Magma. We were a tribe of talented chefs, specializing in very spicy ingredients to flavor our food. We were also coal miners. We would sell coal to other tribes in Natlan. We started off as normal shark mobians in Natlan. But as time went on, as the heat was extremely high, our species adapted to where we can handle the heat, including lava, thus we became lava sharks.

*cut to Shredder having been born*

Shredder: (V.O.) I was born into a family of very skilled coal miners, having learned how to mine coal at the age of five. Eventually, when I had reached the age of fifteen, I was sent off to sell coal over to the Huitztlan tribe. That's where I met Stealth for the first time.

*cut back to Shredder's family and tribe being dead*

Shredder: (V.O.) By the time I went home, I came back to my dead family, as well as my dead tribe. I was devastated. The loss of my family...and my tribe...hurt me the most.

*cut back to Shredder and Ikari*

Shredder: That's where I met Eggman...and I was used as a weapon against Sonic...until Tails and Kazick fixed me...making me the shark that I am, now.

Ikari: I see...are you going to tell your kids this?

Shredder: I'm not sure they're ready to hear this just yet.

Ikari: It's okay. You tell then when you feel the time is right.
