About what a Closed Species is and how it works~
1) What is a closed species? Simply put, it is a species created by an artist in which only those they design can be defined as that species – a great example is the Primagen by Malice-risu. These species could potentially be eligible for trademarks, but are often regulated by the artist issuing DMCA takedowns against other designers or in less extreme cases, by asking the creator of the copied design to either alter or change the design in some way or seek official confirmation they can be a design of that species. (This also means if the artist isn't happy with the alterations you've made they can still ask for it to be removed and have that right).
^ My girl has a unique marking pattern, coloration, and other things unique to her. You can pick her out in a crowd compared to the 'copy paste' nonsense in most Adopt galleries.
2) As basic copyright, any creation is protected by the Copyright Act of 1988. As stated. "It gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to control the ways in which their material may be used. The rights cover: Broadcast and public performance, copying, adapting, issuing, renting and lending copies to the public.".
3) If someone just makes a copy of your character, you'd enforce the Copyright act just as equally when it comes to a Species you created is used without your permission.
Not sure why they think I'm the one that needs educated on the matter [Yes it's a pot-shot at me for calling them out on their BS attitude previously, can't show their original post due to it being classed as 'targeted harassment'~].
But I suppose I should educate them, and whomever else is confused on the matter~
I had to re-post this because the 'Block then UnBlock just to Comment' child in question decided to try and personally attack me, CLEARLY not read what was on the Journal and continued to be ignorant. [I hope someday you can grow up and find some peace in your life instead of remaining ignorant and thinking you know better than everyone else. I've blocked you so you don't taint my page with your nonsense. Yes, mixing two species together can still count, don't cry at me about the rules~]
