Parks and wildlife issued a new ordinance and I agree
a year ago
So after being able to have the covid thing with my staff that had a full paid time off.
I checked mail at the homestead and saw the new speed limit signs.
So due to the fire fly population slowly rebounding they put in a new ordinance about the speed limit it's basically 1 hour after sunset the speed drops from 60 miles an hour to 40mph ? Why care for a bug that glows ? Well they eat mosquitos.. and it was sad to hear the ones from port aransas declared extinct in the wild..
Now with other protocols in place they might save the other coastal species in the midst of the 8th great extinction event c:

Jeeze, I remember by the 1990s fireflies were scarce in the Dallas area, even at a park with a creek and woods

Nice, haven't seen them since moving to Arizona in the mid 90s. Even the high country forests aren't suitable for them
