Tomorrow will have been seven years.. since Harvey

Whoa... wow slow down I didn't even know most on my telegram at that time...
I don't know why hurricane Harvey hit so bad as I sat there and debating staying or leaving and had to leave to evacuate some family and friends..
Then returning hours before impact to make sure.. iruel.. was euthanized due to not wanting an invasive species being re-released into the wild.
The two days after having *insert very naughty lynx scream slurs for tourists here*demanding to fish and be given free food, the fights with them until the city banned non locals that were not there to help or from the surrounding counties in.
Staring at the abyss of the thing as it came in and hit. Getting phone calls from people I am glad I realized were toxic screaming for me during a cat 4.5 hurricane hitting to help them save their.. plants? Jacob being stuck inside my car I loaned him to leave under a palm tree with a busted leg until paramedics could get to him

I know I don't talk about the hurricane very much other than lol but to see nature's fury unleashed... still always hits me each time my daughter was 10.. she texted me saying thanks and reminding me that I chose to get everyone out including the animals(save for the saltwater fish and fresh) ..

What astonishes me, is how people instantly rebuild exactly on the same spot(s) (Beachfront homes, once rebuilt neighborhoods AGAIN allowing trees/foliage to become overgrown (Paradise CA, I'm looking right AT you). It's like recent tragedy never happened?
Even major cities. Take San Fran for example. Great Earthquake, fire, who cares! Rebuild right over the rubble, 'cause it'll NEVAH happen again, right?
If it's bad weather (Hurricanes esp.), we KNOW IT'S COMING, so gtfo and help those who need it gtfo too!
I've done Hurricane Duty/Watch (And if I NEVER have to fill another damned sandbag again in this life, I'll die happy!), while stationed in N.C., Camp Lejeune, and we weren't even hit, but the amount of flooding/tree fall damage was astonishing (Riding out that event in barracks built in the 40's, yeah, that was a real treat, too).
*sighs*
It's horrible that you/others/anything had to live it, but at least you did come through on the other side.
For that, I'm happy! Having even an angry lynx cursing is better than the absence of one!
