There's way too many abilities that make other abilities useless. For how expansive the customization in the game is, a lot of that customization winds up being redundant. And sure, some abilities may be easier to access early on, giving a sense of progression from one ability to the next, but that only serves to restrict customization, and make it seem like there's way more options than there are. Not to mention that some of that progression is completely backwards. Like getting Jump +3 from the Dancer for more job points than it costs to get Ignore Height from the Lancer, which is a job you need to level up to even get access to Dancer in the first place.
Maybe it's just me, but with a game like this, I feel like every ability should be viable by the end, and have some sort of specific advantages over its peers that do the same thing but better. There shouldn't be skills that outright outclass others in every way.

The obvious caveat to this is if the unlock requirements for something are exceptionally difficult, such as behind a lategame superboss or even something only accessible after clearing the game. Those generally *should* be better than most options simply due to the difficulty behind getting them.

OP
I agree with general skills, like spells and such. But I hate how things like Move +1 are made completely obsolete by Move +2 and +3, even if they come from later jobs. It ruins a lot of the customization aspect for me when certain abilities are made completely useless by others as you progress. As opposed to there being certain advantages and disadvantages to each.
