The global pandemic is over now that a large number of people have some form of immunity thanks to shots or exposure and it's much rarer for it to kill. However! The virus is still active and spreading, so it's important to get boosters when available to have the strongest protection against the latest variants (as it is still mutating). The protection from your immune system wanes over time, whether it's a shot or exposure, so like the annual flu shot it's good to get it updated and around when you expect there to be surges (like around winter when more folks are inside)

*nods nods* In my country we had a HUGE mask-selling scandal with tax money and corruption included... I am sure there will be a new wave this winter, as we have elections in some federal states and a massive right wing surge...

It is perhaps more accurate to say that the panic is over. But the seriousness still remains, particularly with new variants spreading.

Also vaccines are better than getting the virus itself, as it provides a more long-lasting immunity

Sure, was "shot" three times, I am all in for vaccination. Its just surprising because in Europe nobody talks about it anymore, guess media have more pressing affairs...

My mom got Covid this summer, took her just 1 week to get into shape, went really smooth.

She is not vacinated btw

She's fortunate! Have had friends that got over it in a few days and some that took months to recover, it's very much a roulette so it's still better to get vaccinated than not.
