I wouldnt say so either, fact I avoid Twitter as much as possible, and avoid bluesky cause well... I don't want a twitter

I just made an itaku acc. It felt for me like it sucks for posting art xD i guess it's another twitter type of thing and it feels weird to use since i have never used a similar social media platform. So you wouldn't recomment opening a bluesky acc ? (I thought it was more like DA or FA in that regard since so many artists here were making an acc there)

Neither of them cater to posting art, but there's nothing objectively stopping you from posting art there. furaffinity is a proper art gallery site. other sites with similar core functions and values include sofurry, weasyl, itaku? (but I've never used itaku,) deviantart before it went to shit etc, and so on. I know for sure twitter will compress the shit out of any image posted below 900x900, not sure what bluesky will do. Think of twitter and bluesky as like 20 second experiences or something. you'll see something and then you may not see it again unless it's from someone you specifically follow.

twitter is run by and filled with the shittiest people imaginable and bsky, well, essentially looks and feels the same as twitter did but it's not shit.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that people are going to refuse twitter (like me) but are amicable to bluesky (also like me)

Furaffinity isn't going anywhere anytime soon unless it is said so in an official capacity :) The last time there was a major extended site outage was 2009. That being said, it is also important to branch out so you got a backup. Your mileage will vary with each site, as some of them are ... a little quiet. like weasyl seems pretty quiet.

I feel FA is extreeeemely quiet now, compared to ~3 years ago ;3; Even when the site says it has MORE accounts and people using the site in general. Do you think it's a FA thing because of the mods thing? Or that just happened generally in all sites?

Sure FA might be quiet now but the user counts at the bottom of the page have never left the site, unlike Weasyl. People use twitter, bsky, and discord a lot. People share art on all of them a lot. Especially discord these days, doing what skype and telegram failed at: community groups and all that jazz. Walled gardens more or less.
I don't really think it's objectively a problem, but I can understand some concern people might have with it. It's probably difficult to adjust from there being more vocal replies to more silent appreciation. I myself am a pretty quiet appreciator a lot of the time.
As for if it's an FA thing or a mods thing, I guess it's kind of hard to say. FA's always been more like an old website kind of design too. Truthfully I appreciate that about it too but idk I could see it pushing some people away. Really dislike the bloated hybrid interfaces sites these days are trying to make. Don't you guys have phones??? /s

I think, that if you're posting stuff, people are liking it, and you're getting new watchers, you're probably doing fine. But don't be afraid to reach out towards new places to share your art.

A huge number dropped off with the data leak as well, that was the main drop off issue I saw relating to comments and the like.
