I'm sure that the good faith of this fandom is going to waste with this one.

I can understand wanting to rally the community to help with funeral costs and his medical debt for the sake of him and his family, but also asking us to cover all his other debts feels like a bit much... FA has been financially mismanaged for a long time and this feels like they're only trying to delay the inevitable. No amount of gofundme donations is going to cover the long term expenses of the site and considering they're relying on it to keep this place up during this time means that FA+ sure as hell isn't profitable enough to keep the site afloat. I'm sure FA+ COULD be doing more if they actually bothered to implement some of the long desired features people have been begging for for over a decade but that requires paying coders or at least accepting help from the countless volunteers they've had over the years... And FA leadership seems to be allergic to both of those things. Bottom line is, If they can't find a way to make the site generate enough income to cover it's own expenses then they'll either need to accept it's done or start making their own bad financial decisions to keep it going.

Honestly don't know why any other tech savvy furries haven't come together to make an alternative... I feel like if you've got a good enough head on your shoulders and you actually listen to what your userbase wants it wouldn't be too difficult to rally the furries into paying for premium site features and ensuring that site costs are at least covered.

It is the reachiest of reaches and it is absolutely sad that others are willing to volunteer their hard earned money for someone's very poor decisions.
