Autumn Updates
I am sure some of you have been wondering where the sign up for the fall raffle is. I still want to do it, but I have hit some snags. So, I am probably going to end up delaying it till later in the season or instead just drawing two names for winter. I promised (at least to myself) to do one a season for this year and I want to hold myself to it. Unfortunately, between my work, the commissions sitting on my plate, Inktober coming up again, putting together a TRPG campaign, and wanting to actually get some writing done, there is little time for the raffle at the moment.
After these two I had promised, will I continue doing them? I am still undecided. I had originally started these raffles because I wanted to draw things I normally would not. At the time I was not getting any commissions, and so I figured this was a good way to branch out. However, in the last two months I have gotten seven commission requests, when I had previously had three total. While it is nice to have work and it does achieve my goal of drawing things I normally would not, I also want to figure out how to properly balance it with my personal artwork. Furthermore, I need to figure out what to do about a queue, and if I want to let it keep growing or close and cap it. These are things I have never had to consider before now, but I guess that is another problem to solve.
Writing wise, most of my energy is currently being spent on putting together this TRPG campaign world. While it is still within the realm of fantasy, it is instead taking place farther in the past than the usual medieval affair. Instead, society is at the level of the late bronze age with warring city states. Hopefully, it will turn out to be a fun setting that I am sure I will harvest for future stories.
As for some personal life updates, I will most likely be moving sometime in the next few months. I have lived in the same apartment for a dozen years now and it is time to move on. This place was great when I went into an office ten minutes away. Now that I work from home though, there is little point staying in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is far too expensive here and most of my friends have already moved on as well. I am going to be taking some trips to scout out places I am interested in living in the next few months, but most likely I will be residing out of California for the first time since I can remember.
Anyways, I hope you are all doing well and there will be more art and stories in the near future.

It's nice to have work on your plate, even if it's a tad too much work. Can't wait to see what you come up with, and good luck on the move!

Thanks. Hopefully it goes smoothly. There's still going to be a bit of time before the move. I'm not in a rush so I'm taking my time to find the right place. I'm still going to be renting at first, but hopefully this is the first step towards buying my own place as everywhere I'm looking is far less pricey.

Life is always a means that should be tended to more than anything else; hope everything goes well for you.

Best of luck to you in finding a place and finding a balance between work and personal art.

Thanks. It's going to be quite a journey. I haven't moved since college.

You're going to find all kinds of things you forgot about while packing!

Oh I'm sure. Or things I thought I lost.
