OK BIG CHANGE
The other day i took a very old drawing of mine and wanted to do a new scan of it. when i did i foudn that i got a lot more detail than my original scan i made decades ago on a different scanner i got rid of in 2014. But a huge problem. I saw the colors as so mcuh more muted and washed out using the current scanner i have vs the original older scanner even with its low pixel count! This is a problem. I think it is high time i find a new art scanner that can deliver eyepoping realistic color!
Anyone have any recomendations?
UNTIL I CAN GET ONE I AM CONSIDERING PAUSING ALL NEW ART UPLOADS! This situation has been causing my visual art to suffer by whiting out all the colors and i need to fix that right away!

You can load the scan into an image editing software and adjust the colors. It's a much cheaper option. There's one called Gimp that I use, it's free.

The thing that ive seen is ligher colors literally just do not show or is white in my scans. Could an img editor fix that?

Absolutely. Brightness, contrast, and saturation adjustments can make a world of difference.

Hmm is there a program that is good for this... One that doesnt store info on the cloud and is private?

There's a free app called GIMP (GNU Imagine Manipulation Program). It's native to Linux but there is a Windows version.
