If you’re messianic (jewish Christian) it SHOULD be optional, but most messianics don’t know that. In the New Testament it talks about “circumcision of the heart” instead of flesh. And on top of that you’re doing it wrong, the biblical way of doing it is a partial circumcision, doing a complete circumcision removes nerve endings and dries out the glans.
