My Profound Question To You:

As a creative person &/or artist, for how far you'd go, would you be willing to die for your art? & what would it mean to you?

A simple example for situations Im not willing to risk is extreme photography composition shots, and the level of anticipated risk just for a dramatic photo. If you decide you want to do photography of natural disasters or war, and you want to specialize in that field, that is more planning and aforethought than say "unexpectedly, floods are ripping through mountains and destroying bridges and I have to get a photo of a taped off area since I happen to be here right now, and I have zero preparation or gear for what I'm about to engage in"
This isn't something that has lots of control. Likewise, for a village hierarchy that says "only important people can use red in text" and you make an art piece of text that is in red berry juice, that's more of a political statement art piece where you gamble with politics in art. If I have no support for my cause and it's just me, I'm not going to rock the boat unless I have 4-5 other people to ride and die with, and similarly I would come to their ranks if out cause was like minded.
Life is going to end, no matter what. I do think that some art is not ever really appropriate if it is the *main* thing you draw or make, and it upsets people. You aren't allowed to murder others just for "art" or rape people as an "art installment" in the name of art as a whole, and such behavior would be greedy beyond humanity and play expression. You could call it art, but it wouldn't be unreasonable for it to be socially unacceptable and viewed as trash rather than art by others in both an art history and anthropology sense.
A whole genocide just for "art?" This is like some sort of space opera cult plot, I can't fathom it outside of perhaps a convoluted Warhammer-esque lore plot (I don't play but I have been told everyone sucks by design lmao)
The idea of not being able to create art again honestly feels like asking me to cut off my own leg with no anesthesia and a rusty saw. Like sure I might be able to do it and live, but it would suck the whole time and I would probably decide "nah I'll just die" at some point in spite of my fear.
But when it comes down to it, this question reminds me of the story of Robert Landsburg, who died while he was taking photographs near Mt. Saint Helens in 1980. The story goes that he realized the superheated ash was headed for him and there was no possible way for him to escape, so he took as many pictures as he could before rewinding the film, putting the camera in its case, putting the case in his backpack, and shielding both with his body to give his photographs the best chance of survival.
When his body was found the film was able to be developed, and he contributed significantly to the documentation of the eruption. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Landsburg
I would hope that if I were put in a life or death situation for art, it would be something like that (even though I'm not a photographer).
I'm a hard man to persuade, and I'm set in my ways. If people just hate me for what points my content makes, that's their problem. There's no excuse to take a picture of a creator's house and post it online so people can make death threats.
