Small Dilemma

With all of the great artworks I've seen this month, it makes me feel like I should make something for Halloween...

I'd say the trick is to just practice, and ignore how good or not the results look at first - the point is that you'll be getting to actually understand what you're drawing :)
if you happen to want to write a story instead: I'd recommend checking out the writing style of pretty much any fiction you can find (how's the dialogue framed? how much of the text describes the details of the setting? etc.), and aiming to get the style that you'd like based on one/some of those
A lot of artist who draw and post it have been doing it for years, and offten time do it for their job, so they spend 8 hours a day doing art, and getting extra time to practice, and get better. not everyone has that luxery, or even wants to do it like that.
Just remember to have fun drawing what you want to draw because it's fun for you, and it makes you happy to draw it .w. Thats what i do. I'm not the greatest artist, but i post what i draw cause i'm proud of what i've done.
i wish you the best of luck!
