My style, my doubts
General
I sometimes worry my style is too simple and cartoony which I internalize as a lack of skill. I've tried painting, to expand my style and talents and I not happy with the results.
Any other artists out there have any advice?

Been craving to commission you again!!
Maybe pick one of the artists you look up to and download high res versions of their work. Zoom way in and try to reverse-engineer however they got an effect you think looks cool. Then try to accomplish the same effect in your own art. It could be a fun weekend experimentation session!
But, I'm not an artist, just an observer.
My two cents is that I love your art and style. I know when I see an image, it's by your hand, and is why I started and continue to follow your works. That being said, everyone has doubts about their art or talents, kinda a natural thing I would think. Don't let it hold you back, feel settled in on your own works, and try things as you see fit or feel they help you feel more at ease with your work. Though again, I'm rather fond of your specific style and look forward to seeing it each time 😁
Simplicity is okay, and good. So is cartoony. What matters is if that is what you want to be doing, or if these aspects are things you want.
They do not portray a lack of skill.
I know my own style hasn't developed much beyond the cartoony, simplistic designs. But, if that's my limitations, then I have to creatively work with those limitations in order to convey the messages, themes, tones, etc I'm after.
Skill may be an aspect of where you are but it's not a limit you can't breach and push further.
What are you wanting out of your style? What do you want to be able to draw? What do you want to do different?
Your brain can get hard wired to do certain things in a certain way. Drawing a species, scene or inanimate object you have never drawn before while also trying a new style will force your brain to concentrate on more than one new thing at a time and can help force things into new areas.
If you want to add detail don't try to do a big complicated scene. It can be overwhelming. Pick a single item or body part and put as much detail into it as you can. It will translate into the bigger works as well over time.
