i'm paying a year of Kaspersky vpn, it's not bad and works on phone too, i don't know if that's expensive for you, for a year it was affordable for me as a one time payment for whole 365 days, i'd say try it out
the cheapest plan lets you have 5 devices already, if you share your email and password with a -trusted- friend they can use it too, i know i shared with 2 of my friends
