Something that both appalls and fascinates me
a year ago
So for a couple of weeks now, I began to conduct research on this fuckin' thing:

Tomy's Tickle Me Feet (NOT PICTURED! THIS IS A CHINESE BOOTLEG!) board game, something I only know of thanks to a friend in a Discord server I was in. I genuinely can't believe something like this exists.
What I've managed to gather from everywhere I've looked that it was made by Tomy (this one pictured is a bootleg from China, I do NOT want to post a picture of the ACTUAL box), was released around 2017 and it was never sold in the US. It seems to have originated from the UK and it is only available for purchase in Europe, Canada, and surprisingly, the Middle East. I had managed to find these on various sites, but eBay and AliExpress are your best bets if you...for some reason...want one of these. It may have (thankfully) been recalled, due to people possibly realizing what harm this could possibly cause, as it's not even on Tomy's website anymore. The objective of the game seems to be to collect as many gold coins as you can without having to get tickled in the stocks, and the game has a spinwheel to go with it as well.
The thing that grosses me out is that this is clearly marketed towards children, but the fact that the point of the game is to lock your feet in stocks while you're being tickled...? Is this...really a game you'd wanna advertise towards kids? I suppose that this game MIGHT (AND THE ROCK MEANS: MIGHT) be okay to play between adults and adults only, but...something like this should NOT be made for kids.
I genuinely wonder what was going through the minds of Tomy when they made this. Did they NOT realize the implications of this thing? And did they also take into account that adults would probably have a better use for this thing than a child?
