I'm all set. I feel like people aren't taking this election as seriously as they did with 2020. I think this election is even MORE important. I have an absentee ballot coming in the mail.

The past few months I've been BOMBARDED with automated text messages from groups encouraging me to do mail-in ballots and other stuff. I refuse to do mail-in because I've seen the lengths that the R's go to, to try and invalidate those votes. So I'm voting in person at my polling place.

My experience varies a bit from yours, in that the people I interact with and see via social media do seem to take this seriously. But they also have an existential dread about them since so much blatantly illegal stuff has been going on but never prosecuted because the political party that is, shall we say, "up to shenanigans"....is also fiercely in control of law enforcement, so getting movement there is one hell of an uphill battle.

I'm tired of this existential dread. I'm tired of this being a recurring thing. I'm horrified that it's not just one person anymore, and it's the entire party's blatant strategy now. The mask is off. It's always been who they are, but now they aren't afraid of showing it. And that last bit - that they're no longer afraid to show it - is what really unnerves me.

Typically, mail in ballots were for our overseas citizens and were only counted when it was a tie or very close. I'm not sure any place has changed the rules as to the priority of where the ballots end up. Walk in were always and should be top of the list.
