I actually strongly suggest NOT to outright delete your Twitter account. This is because when you do, your account name is up for grabs and in a worst case scenario, someone with bad intentions can re-register that name and pretend to be you. And it's possible, but a real pain in the ass to get that imposter removed. There's a script you can use to delete all your tweets and just leave a blank page if you want.

Out of genuine curiosity, what does bluesky do differently than twitter? They seem to have the same layout and functionality, minus the trending tab on bluesky.

Well, one difference coming this November, is that Twitter will be feeding everything you post on it to AI. And not letting you opt-out.

Figures. AI ruins everything.
But is bluesky better in that regard? I suppose it's a moderate improvement over automatically sending everything to the AI, but I can see your artwork without an account. An AI data scraper could be able to gather images and text as well, couldn't it? All it needs is the URL, which an AI could find by brute force.
Come to think of it, by that logic I'm not even sure if FA is safe from scrapers.
I've been thinking about AI a lot recently, and all the uniquely awful things it's brought upon the internet. I should get my thoughts written down sometime soon...

A while ago, Dragoneer did say he added some code to FA to help deter AI from looking at the site. Or something like that...
I don't know, maybe sometime in the future everything on the internet might be fed to AI.
But for now, it is nice to try to avoid it as long as we can.
