An extra layer of protection, just in case?

Howdy, weirdos! A lithe and comely evening to you. Have some brainwords for your eyemeats.
I've been grappling a little with how to post some of the more out-there content. Those who have been with me for the last 20+ years probably get me well enough to know that I kinda just post whatever I want, whenever I want, wherever I want. My philosophy has always been: Don't like? Don't look. I'm not really big on splitting accounts for content, or dividing it up based on whether or not you can sneak a peek on the job. You did the work hunting down my goofy ass, I'm not gonna send you on a scavenger hunt looking for 12 other galleries to see it all.
I like to make adult content for adults. But would you believe that my gallery here is actually over half SFW stuff (52%, if you're into numbers)? I was surprised, too. I tend to think of myself as a pornographer, but my body of released work is pretty massive... over 700 pictures at this point between comics, portraits, oekaki, and sketches. Many of you probably know me from Our Home Planet, which is definitely more of an all-ages affair (bonus content not withstanding...). But these days, I've been letting my freak flag fly a little more, and that's probably been interesting for some of you.
Currently, FurAffinity doesn't support separated thumbnails. That's kind of a big deal on a site that supposedly encourages content gating, especially when so much of the work produced here is, shall we say... extreme? I think you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who disagrees. I'm not ashamed of my work, but I realize that the macabre can be a bit polarizing... even during Spooky Season!
I'm toying with the idea of cropping future scary-type pics into previews here, directly linking through to my website for the full thing, to help you manage this a little better. No landing page, just an externally hosted, uncensored image behind the link. There are some upsides to this, the primary one being unlimited file size. If I wanted to publish a big, honkin' Grizelda at 4K, you'd get to see that gross gal in all her glory, not a megapixel limit in sight. Another benefit is that you don't have an autopsy monster lurking in your porn notifications list, waiting to assassinate your libido with laser precision.
I know folks can be a bit sensitive about the off-siting here, but is this an agreeable solution for those of you not into the nightmare fuel? For those who are, would this actually be hella annoying instead? The gallery here is already tagged in a variety of ways to help navigating the minefield, but until honest-to-goodness thumbnails are functional at FA again, the notifications list can be a bit of a no-man's land.
Is this even something that needs addressing? Just putting my feelers out.

I personally employ cropped thumbnails plus a link to the full sized image for the "harder content" sorta stuff and I've seen other artists do that on this site as well!! It is totally your call in the end, but when I've done the previews+links in description dealios myself it's been beneficial for both me and my followers. I quite like Grizelda and think she's neat so I don't personally have an issue with her, I'm just trying to help out since I've been around on this crusty site back when there WERE functioning thumbnails (and I too am still holding onto the dumb hope they shall return lol)
I appreciate the input! I've seen this method used mostly for Patreon redirects, but I figured, why not use it for free stuff, too? Not just for harder content, but maybe also for odd canvas shapes, like long comic pages? Is this something you did proactively when thumbnails broke, or in response to feedback?
