I am a complete dumbass and fell for someone impersonating another artist on bluesky, who was pretending to offer commissions. I am out $50 and I really need that kind of money since my budget is tight-ish. Stupid me sent it over paypal as friends and family so I can't get it back. I mean, 50 bucks is just 50 bucks, but I feel so fucking stupid now! Wish I could get that money back....or any of it really.

i did the same mistake out of my own gullibity early september and lost 150$, always keep an eye on account usernames and their created date/activity, im sorry youre dealing with this

Thats why I usually dont use Bluesky or Twitter for looking up furry artists to get commissions from. It's too easy for someone to get an create account for a well known artist that doesnt have one, and start pretending to be them, and in a worse case scenario, be an asshole and start scamming people like that. When it doubt, check to see if they have a FA, sofurry, or inkbunny account and look to see if they have a link to their bluesky/twitter account. Still sorry to what happened to you there.
damn, and her ei thought bluesky was safer. I hope you can soon recover from this money loss. I think it could have happened to anybody
