Status Update: A lot to talk about...

1. The US election went worst-case. The damage that has been caused here will probably not be undone for decades, and a great deal of innocent people will suffer and die for no good reason. I have more worry for the future now than ever. I can only ask you to be strong and survive. Those who would unmake you would feast on your fear. Do not let them eat.
Use this time to grow stronger, smarter, and better.
Perhaps after today's display of rank ignorance and cruelty, you'll be less surprised by how little it takes to surpass the average person... If you are even trying, you are already there.
So imagine what could happen if you pushed your limits further! Chase something that matters to you and you might find it has a funny way of keeping you afloat through the worst.
And remember, drugs and alcohol are not for sorrow! Don't let a bad habit start from despair right when you need to be most lucid and prepared...
If you're feeling bad enough to take your own life, please don't. The fact that something like this makes you feel bad is proof of your value. Please stay with us and don't waste your chance to be happy, because there's people out there who want you to be, even if you may feel isolated.
2. Game dev is going well! I've recently added the upgrade menu to Grabbus.
There are 18 different stats to increase, some infinite, some capped, spread across an endlessly-expanding grid of claimable nodes.
This will come in a future update (or just the end-of-year demo), with tons of new sounds, bug fixes, optimizations, rule improvements, QoL improvements, SPANISH localization, with more languages incoming...
Grabbus is getting bigger and better every day, and I won't let some wrinkly, orange rat-fuck or his deluded, pissant boot-lickers psyche me out from fulfilling my destiny!
3. I've made a decision to delete both twitter/X accounts (Dawmino and Grabbus)

There is just no way being on Twitter is gonna be healthy after what happened. I'm not exposing myself to that, especially not while I'm trying to finish an entire video game's development. It was already a distraction.
The accounts will be gone in about a week to give people time to react.

It's telling that two of Kamala's most visible and well known backers were Hillary Clinton and Liz Cheney, two people who, although not directly responsible, are tangentially linked to the people that are often blamed for the destruction of the middle class. I don't think left-leaning folks in the US realize just how BADLY Democrats' push for globalization, free trade, NAFTA, off-shoring, and all these things that really took root in the 1990s ended up devastating the working and middle classes (far-leftists probably understand this a lot better). We were promised "yeah, the jobs will go away, but you'll be happy to be in newer, better jobs." We were great at the former, not so much the latter.Then came the Neocons headed by Dick Cheney and GWB, with the financially devastating meddling wars abroad and the just-as-devastating financial collapse of 2007. That was the Republican establishment then -- the Republican establishment has been totally destroyed in the last decade. If you don't bend the knee, you are out, like Liz Cheney.
We can say "but the Republicans are so much worse!" True, true, they are. Trickle-Down has had far more destructive consequences than either of those other things. The enormous wealth transfer to the upper class is probably more responsible for than than anything else. But the thing is that the old Republican Party screwed people over. The Democrats ALSO screwed those same people over with their corporate and rich-friendly policies. They realized... they could not turn to the Democrats either. There was no hope in either of those old guards. This has led to the general belief that the American Dream is dead, that you didn't have opportunity, that just wanting to work wasn't enough. That the deal of life-long security through work was not there anymore. That is chaos, that is despair. Guess what types of people rise to power in that type of environment? The demagogue, the fascist, the person who successfully redirects your anger to someone else, usually someone who doesn't deserve it, and uses that to seize power while promising hope?
The rest of the world is gonna have to to deal with this too to some degree, especially the allied governments. I think just about every country in the world has gone through this period. I'm not an athiest or entirely christian either. The country's people had a responsibility, and they chose to repeat this eons-old trial for themselves.

Also you make a good argument that Twitter/X is not a place for decent people. I'd been considering leaving for so long now, but I kept telling myself I need it for exposure, but now; fuck it. I can't in good conscience be part of that community, so like you, I'm nuking my accounts and sticking to BlueSky, which has already proved more helpful anyway.

If anyone's wondering, the nazis are celebrating and their masks have pretty much come off completely. These are the people MAGA voters are linking arms with. I don't think we're at the point of doomsday or Holocaust 2 (and I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in here or speaking in hyperbole - we're talking full-blown "heil" and "kill them all" types) but I think it speaks to just how bad it is when THEY feel comfortable and I feel like fleeing my state ASAP.

Everything you brought up is part of Project 2025 which is from The Heritage Foundation. A thing that Trump has disavowed numerous times in the campaign.

Today he has full control over the judicial, executive, and legislative branches of government with loyalists who are more socially conservative than he is. Given that he won a recent election on his last term, people are going to be yes men for him with the prospects of continuing their political career afterwards as his successor. More importantly, Project 2025 plans to grant more power to the Judicial branch since people appointed there stay for 100 years as opposed to 4, so it'll still shift right-ward even if he's gone. A lot of policies made by right-wing politicians of any kind are designed to make minorities an underclass. It's how Trump can gain political power from being a convicted felon while people have their lives ruined for years over marijuana use. People are rightfully concerned about it regardless if they end up in camps or not. There are low standards for the wealthy or privileged and high standards for impoverished or disadvantaged.
You might think that leftists, minorities, or liberals are mean/overreacting for swearing at you, but what's actually mean is having an out-of-touch politician labeling you as a pariah and making your life more hard for not being born like them.
Even if you change everything about yourself to appease right-wing politicians, they still won't forgive you because they need a demographic (denomination, religion, race, sexuality, gender identity) to scapegoat their societal ills on and feel superior to. A lot of people have been in your position before and it is not worth pointlessly struggling and stressing out over.
