I thought trump regularly belittled his own followers, right alongside everyone else within his spitting range. I feel like there's a flaw in your viewpoint.

The flaw, I'm afraid, is that the typical Trump voter is ignorant of politics and has little or no idea what Trump is actually saying beyond the carefully curated talking points on Fox News and similar... of which he picks the ones he likes, imagining that Trump means those, and all the other stuff is just bloviating for the votes.

I could be wrongβtwice over, evenβbut I don't think this was actually a pro-trump statement. Sounds like disgust with both sides to me. I kind of have a problem with the viewpoint on Democrats as well, but I think that issue is a bit more complicated and kind of a grey area; you can only take so much abuse for so long before you start turning abusive yourself, you know? Not okay, but not surprising either.
