For my American friends
General
It's hard to find the words, but to my American friends and anyone effected by this election, I'm very sorry. I may not live in America, but I have a wonderful partner, family and many friends over there and I think about you all right now.
I wish I could grow very big and pick you all up and take you somewhere safe.
Nobody ever deserves to live in fear.
This is not an easy time for our fellow friends who are trans and queer, women and people with uteruses, people of color, those who are disabled, immigrants and so on.
But this isn't the end. We must continue to hold each other up, no matter how heavy it gets. We can't give up. We can't let this be the end of us. There cannot be a world without us. We belong here.
You're so so strong. The fact that you're here, reading this right now in this moment is enough. You did it. You're here. And you need to keep being here. They can't get rid of you.
Be angry. Be upset. Cry. Use your emotions for good.
Fight for your rights. Support your friends and loved ones. Express your emotions because they need to be seen. Your emotions are important.
They want you to feel defeated, but you won't be. You're not going anywhere!
Its okay to feel awful right now. You're not in this alone and you never will be. We won't be taken down.
That being said, please remember to take care of yourselves. Social media can be insanely overwhelming right now. There's lots of threads and articles, especially on twitter that are really heavy. Take a step away. Call a loved one. Read. Watch your favorite childhood movie. Enjoy all the good things that no one can take away from you.
There is so much joy to be had. It can't be taken away from you. You've been here, and you'll always be here despite it all.
