I am moving this from my profile to here. I do not want to lose this but it is not my current struggle. I have made my peace with who I am.

For years I felt something was wrong .... I hid.
When I knew it could never be ....I pretended.
When I heard that it was a nasty thing ... I fought it.
When I knew it would never leave .... I tried to die.
When I could not hide or pretend or fight or die ..... I lost hope.

When I asked for help..... I took back hope.
When I felt it as a part of me... I knew need.
When I felt it as me... I knew want.
When I feel at peace with it .... I will know me.

In case you have not already figured it out.
I am and always have been a woman.
I had to live most of my life as a man.
I have struggled to understand just what that means.
I work now on the details of looking and living what I have always been.
