I mean, it's this, because all of that was telling voters day in and day out how bad the economy was and not giving Biden any credit for any of his positive policies
It's also a solid chunk of the electorate that just doesn't pay any attention to the news, like, zero, like the kind of person that was surprised that there was an election happening
And then there's also just regardless of how well or ill informed someone is, the propensity for voters to simply project whatever they want onto Trump, despite having 4 years of him and having him on the airways the last 9 years, people still just have a completely imagined version of him in their heads, not because Right Wing media portrays in any particular way but because it's just a thing voters do, he's still 'the rich Apprentice guy' regardless of what he's done or said. And they don't take what he says seriously, so they always get shocked when he actually does what he says he'll do. It's baffling and there's no good fix to any of it even if we fix the media ecosystem (if we even can at this point)
You're ignoring the fact that the economy is terrible right now. Buying power per dollar is maybe 70% of what it was 3-4 years ago, at best. Home ownership is a distant dream for the middleclass, the job market is a nightmare. Most of this came to light/to the popular zeitgeist under Biden. Regardless of if it's his fault or not, it gets attributed to him, as is always the case with presidents.
Also, immigration is screwed. Legal is a nightmare, and illegal is worse. The media said Kamala was appointed to do something about it, but didn't do anything obvious. Trump on the other hand: "Build the wall." Therefore Kamala gets the blame, and right as we're ramping up to the election, Venezuelan gangsters who slipped in with the undocumented start taking over apartment buildings in New York and Colorado. With big K serving as "acting president", right or wrong she gets the blame. That's not 'right wing media', that's just the collective consensus of the nonliberals based purely on timing.
Kamala was far from a compelling candidate in the first place, but she also just had bad luck when it came to timing.
Well, yes, but there is something to be said that the right has a way more effective media pipeline then the left, look at how many newspapers and media outlets are owned big billionaire, for example. Even the supposed "liberal media" like MSNBC, NYT, WaPo etc. have all been running extremely negative stories, attacking Biden constantly on all issues, with these outlets having headlines, that the economy is heading for recession, even if all the numbers go against that.
This issue is not just in the US tho, here in Germany its basically the same, the only news sources I trust are the Public owned news outlets like ZDF and ARD, because most free media are owned by people who want to make nothing but money, negativity sells and getting a conservative/right wing Government elected means tax breaks for them.
That and the fact that they made some mayor blunders. Can't call Trump demented while he goes on to Joe Rogan to talk for 3 hours straight ( and have 47 Million watchers ) while she refuses to go there at all and avoid interviews.
Trump is a very flawed man. Kamala was a horrible candidate. And they were so deep in their bubble they believed their own propaganda. Rememeber in 2020 she got less than 1% of the democrat votes and dropped out first.
Oh good. A both-sides Lolbertarian. I look forward to your shock and indignance when you are marched in front of a Gilead tribunal for unchristian degeneracy. My ghost will laugh at your frowny face.
There's one other thing I dont think is mentioned here:
We are a people that requires -instant- gratification, and our attention tends to get distracted rather easily from the main problem(s) are our country is faced today.
As stated previously, the media certainly is at fault here, because they're always after the next big thing to get the ratings instead of focusing on the main issue.
I may be so, and I see it here in France where it's the left wing media that dominate. We basically always lean toward the left, except in the last elections which were used as a revenge against our very unpopular president Macron.
Whoever controls the media controls the country. Billionnaires are not necessarily the problem, some own left leaning media too.
The solution is probably educating people to read and understand and analyze the news. Because a population of dumb people who are spoon fed "ready to think" ideas may be handy if you're in power, but also dangerous because it can flip side easilly.
I think the left wing shouldn't be blaming the right wing... They should be blaming their own 15MILLION+ voters that didn't show up and the DNC's mishandling of the whole Biden-Harris appointment thing without a democratic primary.
Hell, even my boomer parents didn't know Harris had been "installed" and Biden forced to withdraw, they thought Trump somehow kept Biden off the ballot. >.<
The dems were toast when they snubbed Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard years ago, people that were naturally popular but not "establishment" enough, so they instead propped up a bunch of people no one actually likes.

"Whoever controls the media, controls the mind."
Left-wing media blaming right-wing media? Very simple explanation indeed.

Yeah, its still climbing, and I can only imagine what the next 4 years is going to be like -dies-
