I've noticed more engagement overall, even if there's less 'likes'. People are also kinder, and you can properly block people, and there are lists for blocking people you definitely don't want on your page like bots. They're trying to improve the site too.

As for your pup play stuff, as long as you tag it as adult, you'll actually attract more. The algorithm isn't poisoned either. It picks up exactly what I'm interested in, and if I say I don't like something, it remembers and doesn't push politics, hate speech, and sports news down my throat if I don't want it.

Oh, and the moderators of bluesky actually properly put content warnings for rudeness, hatefulness, and spam on posts that get reported!

Most people seem to have transferred over from twitter to Bluesky. There's considerably fewer bots and trolls as well. It's not really an issue of starting from scratch because most people search for the people they watched on twitter and re-add them, or quickly find them again via a friend's retweets.

It was not as a big of a "starting from scratch" commitment for me but I've personally felt more community from bluesky. I've absolutely noticed peeps being more fine with openly kinky stuff, especially if you apply the correct content warning on it, bonus points if you put tags like #pup as it allows people to hide that content or specifically search for it. There's still a bit of a bot problem but as it's already been mentioned there are bot block lists that is a simple one button to block all of the bots currently on the list.

Starting fresh isn't always a bad thing but the sooner you distance yourself from the platform, the better. Considering the backlash and fallout of the site let alone how just about everyone was unanimously in agreement that they need to step down from their CEO position (despite the fact they still haven't), everyone is jumping ship before they proceed to make any more bad decisions and add more terrible functions to the site (including vital ones that should NEVER have been altered/touched).

Yes. Because it's not really starting from scratch, you'll have people on the new platform looking for you there after they too left the old platform.

BUT, if you stay on the old platform (the dying one) then you still lose your followers 'cos they will have all moved away.

Honestly it doesn't feel like starting over, most of the people I follow there are exactly the same ones I did on twitter. But less maga chuds and musk clowns.

Deleting my twitter account was most likely one of the best things I ever did. That site became so toxic after Musk took it over.
