I had hoped that would be enough to prevent him from ever stepping foot in the White House again, but apparently some people don't learn. I've heard some people were googling in Red states if they can change their vote, if so that's sad they didn't know they can't. But I'm well situated I think to weather the storm, and if necessary, we'll see what I have to do to protect myself.

I'm better than I was last week, thank goodness. But for now, got to soldier on.

I don't even know where that would be right now. Moving would be very difficult not to mention it would be tough to find a job in another state. I'm financially stable, if I stay here. If I don't, I can't say for sure I would be and we only have one real income.

Trust me if Trump had actually wanted to do anything crazy he would have done it in his last term. I think people really need to realise just how rigged things are. All politicians are just puppets. There will never be any mass deportations because they want slave labour. Even musk has started saying that. He is already back tracking on basically everything. (unfortunately imo)

I think the worry is that this time he's specifically going to put people into important positions that don't tell him "no that's not legal/feasible" as he had some really good people in his administration but many of them ended up leaving during his first term due to their frustrations with Trump's management style. As for the mass deportations I also don't think it's recognized the sheer level of logistics and funding it will take to handle the situation and after Trump himself helped to kill a bipartisan immigration bill earlier this year (which maybe was flawed but probably the best that could get through Congress and still be considered bipartisan and was still better than the current situation) I think it's going to be a lot more difficult to pass outside of Executive Orders (which are directives but not actually law).

I think the left seriously does not understand how Trump works. He has already filled his team with AIPAC shills that all his supporters hate. The Trump the eft and right imagine simply does not exist he is a character designed to manipulate his supporters. Mass deportations were never going to happen because Trump never actually wanted them. Elon and his friends want cheap slave labour. Americans are completely unaware of how bad modern slavery has become. Entire agricultural industries have been replaced with slaves in the last 5 years. In the UK they found a network of over 10000 sweatshop slaves in Bristol alone. It's not mass migration or a refugee crisis it's human trafficking on an industrial scale. Both sides need to wake up to that. That is why Republicans and democrats want the border to stay open. Ignore what they actually say. His cabinet in 2016 was almost as bad as this one. Don't forget Trump never actually built his wall. It wasn't because he couldn't or because he was stopped. It was because the elite simply did not want it built. Everything you heard out of Washington is a puppet show. Every time you hear about Russia or Putin it's just theatre. They are trying to make you accept the lesser of two evils because muh orange man bad muh communism.

I started off as a Conservative Republican back in the days of Ronald Reagan... but as I've grown older I've leaned more Libertarian.
I Barely know how to live My Life, and I am NOT qualified to tell you how to live yours... and I don;t want the government (or the people in it) telling me or anyone else how we Have To live our lives.

Well, regardless of politics, I've never felt that the republican candidate is a good man in any sense of the word, and on that alone, I would have disqualified him. I don't have a problem with Repulicans as they used to be. Their current makeup concerns me because of the sheer number of people who have done some really questionable things. Honor, integrity, compassion, and loyalty should be paramount, and for a lot of politicians they aren't. And I think that it should be.

I completely agree that politicians are nowhere near as 'respectable' as day of yore... much to our great loss.
and the ones that do have 'principals' are too far into their religious B.S. that I CAN'T support them.

Maybe it's my cynicism talking, but I would love for their to be ethics clauses in every appointment to government. That rather than not prosecuting a sitting president, maybe we don't allow people under investigation to govern. If you have a pending investigation your duties are suspended until you clean up your own mess. That's what we have a VP for and such. And that should go for every office. Now maybe that means we don't have any politicians left.... But if so, that's a deeper problem.

I've long thought public office should be treated more like military service. That it's not something you do for the perks but it is regarded as a duty. Like our senator running off every time there's a crisis he should be managing. (I live in TX.)
