I merely use it as personal character archive. Practical so I can send other artists a compilation of my refs for a particular char.

The most common usage I see from it is just a place to store all your characters and images you have of them in one place that's easily navigatable. Some people will create a for sale folder for adopts or characters they are selling but they will usually advertise those characters here on fa or other social media. So to me, it's more of a personal tool than a gallery to grow a platform on.

I use mine as a character archive, and a way to decorate their profiles! There's a lot of free HTML that can be used, which is really fun for customizing your character's page. ;w;

It's very active. Although it is mostly used as a character storage site and place to display/share refs for artists to use for commissions, rather than selling adopts.

Not that it isn't used for that at all; the site has a good amount of stuff on it that is used for selling/trade/etc for adopts. A good chunk of the users are a bit on the younger side so buying isn't super prevalent over trading. Doesn't mean it's not viable for selling adopts new and old though, esp if you are an established artist. I follow a few that do very well on there.

I'd say it's worth creating just for the purpose of allowing people to attach your name to their adopts [I know you just made one but in general haha!]. Helps with scams when it's verified the artist is on-site and is directly connected to the adopt in question with credits. That and you can keep track of them and see all the new art they get if you want!

That part is interesting! I'm always curious what happens to the characters I sell after some time xD

Honestly I've found it's easier to get buyers if you know what you're doing. Gotta make sure to tag adopts properly, use the trade system and the forums area but once you get past the initial learning curve it's much more efficient than FA imo. If you ever need help with it lmk and I'll do my best to help out :3

Since Discord and Imgur have gone dumb, I use it to share my refs with other people.

It's used for both adoptables and just having compiled gallery and information of your OCs. I haven't used the forums or anything (yet) but it's pretty active.

I use it as a primary source for character art and literature collection
Its especially convenient when you are in a bunch of closed species and have a bunch of characters from those to keep track of like I do too XD

Yeah it is pretty active. I personally like using it as a way to organize my characters and using as a way to quick refrence characters without having to dig through my art folders.

While it’s used to sell characters by some I think it’s more of a site to allow people to organize and show off their characters. At least that’s how I use it
Plus with it needing a invite code to join that’s how I feel like it was originally planned

Question: since you have an account now, will you be accepting art of your characters from other artists into your character galleries? (E.g. Art Fight attacks, fan art per your rules, etc.)

I was about to submit an Art Fight attack from last year, but wanted to check just in case. 😅 I think you need to manually approve uploads from other people, anyways.

Quick note to add: admins aren’t good. They see just one character unaccredited to an artist, they freeze your account so you can’t edit, remove, trade, etc anything in your account. I had this happen to me and my account has been frozen since the site was up.
