weird pc issues again

Has anyone dealt with this? I can't pinpoint exactly when it started, but definitely after the new drive was added. Usually happens after i open a folder with a bunch of images. Some stop having thumbnails generated after a while, but the file itself still opens just fine. Then instead of extension specific icons, all files become a generic blank paper icon and finally, explorer becomes empty apart from quick access. I don't have time to try reinstalling windows right now, so has anyone else seen this?

I solved it by making subfolders to sort everything into.
Have you cleared the thumbnail cache?
file explorer isnt the only file viewing program go install another and it might work better
dont remember what they used though
