The obligatory 'F(x)Twitter' Rant
Potentially outing myself here, but no matter which side you voted for, X is a dying ship, like if Tumblr on its last leg and the very worst of 4Chan fused together. Regardless of what stance one takes, threats of all manner are pretty much the norm, and if you report too many of them, enjoy a perma ban. I've had a BlueSky for a while, it's functionally the same (minus Elon at the helm), though I'm following less than 20 people and I'm still somehow getting flooded with very left-leaning political content. In that regard there's BlueSky on 1 side and Truth/Rumble on the other. I don't love the idea of separating social media sites by political party, but the longer this experiment has gone on, the clearer it is that Elon has spectacularly failed at 'fixing' the platform. Shit, at this point FaceBook might even be a better platform. If I can't re-activate my old account, the only reason to make a new one is to follow artists that haven't already jumped ship, but like BlueSky, the political stuff seeps in, and I refuse to pretend to be that morally righteous 'holier than thou' d0uch3-canoe that a good portion of my side pretends to be. I know that with how 'in your face' X is with that sort of thing, eventually I'll cave in and engage with that content some more.
Blehhhh....
I know my party isn't very popular in the community, and I'm kind of rambling incoherently well past midnight, but even people on this side are starting to see the Twitter (X) thing has been a massive L.
