Last few weeks of semesterrr
I'm in the last two weeks of my courses for this semester which I greatly underestimated how much of an impact they'd have on my work time whoops. Been squeezing in commission work during weekdays between classes and working my ass off on some real heavy topics for the online course on weekends and I am so ready to have real breaks again on weekends!! I'm nearing the end of the commissions I took just prior to AFC, and a few sketches have been started for the AFC pieces during that while waiting on other responses.
Since I'm farther behind than I thought I'd be here, I'm holding out on opening for new work until January or so, this year has just been too much at once and in that I've fallen way too far back on Patreon pieces for the tier that's supposed to get monthly sketch work. The plan right now is to complete the comm stuff and then spend the rest of December and early January catching up on all the sketches owed. Next Fall will finally be my last semester at college, provided I don't screw up somewhere along the way here, but that's why I've been prioritizing the coursework a ton. During the last semesters here when I open for work I'll likely be expecting a 2-3 month wait time, since that's been about the level of delay I've noticed.
Since I've been so busy with classes I've fallen behind on personal work as well, and haven't been able to add to my setup for cons. Didn't get in for vending anywhere for 2025, so I'll likely only be attending FC and maybe vending Paw if I can get in on time next year. Really need time where I'm not stressing over work and school for several months to think up ideas for things again, as I'd really love to get more prints together and do some more felting! The monthly sketchbooks have been pretty thin because of this as well, but I hope people enjoy my little pen stuff, it's definitely been a source of enjoyment during the worst of this year.
Finally, I'm upgrading my PC's cpu after about ten years of it's existence with me. A lot of the old beast is getting replaced with this upgrade, and with that upgrade I'm hoping to get around to streaming artwork again. I'm sure I've mentioned it before but for reasons I can't really pinpoint I've been increasingly anxious about doing live art again, and that sucks! A side program I used to use to display current songs also seems to have lost support and died, so before I start up again I'll need to build a little stream border or something and work a slot into it for current music, or just leave it out, but it was nice to have the current track up so I don't need to answer what I'm listening to in chat. If I get the nerve up again for it and can make a temp setup I may stream some of the work through December to get back into the swing of things, but don't take that as a hard and fast promise of streams again.
Hugely grateful for people's patience and support this year, it's been a particularly rough one for working and it means to the world and more to me that I can even still create anything for others.
