Is Harry Potter satanic or pagan?

Dear Mateys,
The Harry Potter series is something I've been seeing for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a boy, I wanted to go to Hogwarts even though I wasn't so fond of boarding schools. But as of recent I realized that some Christians believe it to be something satanic or pagan or something and it's a series that some Christian children never get to experience. Take South Korea for instance, it's a country that's very heavily Christian in every way, even though the Harry Potter series airs on television and is available on DVD and streaming, almost nobody there ever watches it.
Also, my sister used to mention a girl in her 2nd grade class, who said anyone who watches Harry Potter is possessed by the devil or something like that.
I mentioned many times that I don't celebrate Halloween and maybe some people think it has to do with that, but despite the environment I find this untrue, but I mostly find that it's because of witchcraft but other holidays have been represented as well even Christmas, most of the films weren't even released in October same for the books.
Maybe this is something
Raini or
fredvegerano can clear up. If there really is something about the Harry Potter series that makes it something that Christians should keep at bay from it.

Well, I believe servants of Christ Jesus are warned away from practicing withcraft, divination, that sort of thing. It's because of the fact that there /are/ rebellious (to God) spirits that will take notice of your interest in these things, and will potentially try to target you in ways as you go through your life each day that slowly, over time - tempt you to pull further and further away from the Lord via sin. By engaging in activity that the Holy Bible warns not to engage in, demons and evil spirits are granted license to target you - and being on their radar, being targeted by them is never a good thing. By being obedient to the Lord and putting all your faith on Him via prayers and belief, you instead are relying on Him to protect and watch over you instead of going to lesser (evil) spirits to "learn magic" - which comes at a heavy price. If you are not willing to be obedient to the Lord and resist these things now, why would the Lord trust you in Heaven, where you may be expected to have important responsibilities? You must first demonstrate in this life here that you will not be tempted by disobedient spirits to selfishly gain power over others through magic. This life is a test. The only way you can really be granted any kind of "special powers" is either by God as one of His chosen messengers (such as a prophet), or if you choose to align with evil spirits. It's not worth the price.

I suppose you're right. Maybe that's why Harry broke the elder wand and threw it away even when Ron suggested it would make him invincible. On the bright side, it did exude the importance of friendship and working together and how nothing works when done in vain and spite but the love and care and friends when combined altogether makes a greater strength which no amount of evil can match.
