I was shocked to see the news, posted here in FA, that Richard Bartrop had suddenly passed away, apparently in connection with a bad infection he'd had. I'd had a few pleasant dealings with him -- in fact, I had a (mercifully blank) sketchbook out with him for some Red and Melonny work.

I liked his artwork style and his humour very much, and I'm greatly saddened by the news.
