So things have been alright since  coatietoes and I moved to Minnesota. I came up with a job, jacks got one but they cut their position due to finances, and recently got another. The budget wasn't mega tight, but a lot of my funds were depleted due to the move. I wanted to save more money before we left Texas, but I felt it was becoming too risky to stay. The winter has started to set in, and I'd been nursing jacks for a few days with a fever when we noticed their ankle swelling.

We went to the doctor, did lots of testing and they wanted us to go to the ER. jacks has been in the hospital for 3 days now and has already had surgery on their ankle, which went well, after they found an infection in the joint. They won't be able to remove their cast for 2 weeks, and they won't be discharged for a few more days. They're getting a PICC line as well and we're going to have to administer 4 weeks of antibiotics at home.

I'm really dreading the bill.
