i think you could find a Patreon account a welcome addition to commission and print income (i don't have a creator acct, but have been subscribed to couple artist there for a few years) - there are a lot "tiers" you can set for your acct, free trials, etc - each tier having certain benefits - e.g., a one to five dollar a month tier subscription could offer access to old G or PG art and new art at a couple months delay - every 100 subscribers could make $500 per month, tiers a few dollars per month higher could include access to earlier comics, or R rated art, higher tiers could include new comics and art (without lower tier delay) a monthly picture request raffle/vote, hi-res 4K scans, etc etc – tiers can have various value-added ideas.

And you inform folks on FA of your Patreon page by posting some (not all) new art on FA and other platforms. With a time delay.

'Ko-fi' is another good idea for on-going tips..

'Go Fund Me' is good for emergencies like this : you don’t have to sell anything – just say what’s happening and ask for help to reach a financial goal.

“Go Fund Me’ can also be used for long term projects with investor tiers, like raising funds for ‘The Art Of Terrie Smith” book - where the investors get a credits comment in the book, a first edition discount, etc. ‘Go Fund Me’ investments in projects like that tend to be one-time donations/investments But if vol 1 of a comic or book sells well then a ‘Go Fund Me’ for vol 2 could start – vol 3 – etc.

Holidays spending leaves me limited optional funds, but i could buy a print or two - and if you start a Patreon i will subscribe and advertise it with a journal - and other mentions your other fans can – and will – direct folks to your page.

You’re one of the founders of this fandom and deserve honour for your past, respect for your current art, and support so that we’ll still have you around for future art projects !
