Story Commissions Open for 2025! (NEW)
That's Right! Slick's BACK, Baby! ^O^
Technically, Slick never left, but my commission format was pretty scattershot and intimidating for new prospective buyers. With some exceptions, the only people who ended up getting really awesome stories were old friends who were familiar with how I worked or artists who were willing to do trades. For 2025, I needed to take greater strides to make my commission process accessible for both old and new buyers, especially since my plans are even loftier than the years before!
What's New?
My prices! They're going up by $20 per tier to meet the rising market, and I apologize for this. I liked the old prices, but the commissions I've been getting for these prices have felt like I'm overworking myself, and the money I've gotten from them hasn't gone as far as it used to. I'm aspiring to some bigger sequences and more detailed art pieces, so the best way to keep my head above water is to ask for just a little more. Here's the lowdown on my tier system by the new prices, and that includes the new "Feature-Length" tier that I devised to account for projects as big as last year's commissioned storybook, Cheek 2 Cheek.
Nibbles Tier (3000 Words) --$60 $80
Mariana Tier (6000 Words) --$120 $140
Bella Tier (9000 Words) --$180 $200
Feature-Length (Variable) -- $300 to $600, dependent on content
If you found my required credit system difficult to approach last year, then I have good news for you: I'm opening back up for direct cash payments via invoices again! You can skip the wait time and pay me with a direct invoice via PayPal. I will be LIMITING how much money I get through this method, however, so it doesn't impact my family's medical coverage. Expect a monthly cap on how much of this cash I can take. It'll also include tax fees when doing direct payment only, so unfortunately those buyers will have to put up with messy extra numbers at the end. Thankfully, it should be a small expense! If you don't have enough cash for the lump sum, I do have the other option that served me well last year, and it's made a LOT more digestible this year!
The Slickbux method that I experimented with in 2024 is going to stay as a strong and solid option. Calling it story credit has always been a little skeevy in my eyes, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so I'm calling it what it really is: an installment plan method! Now it'll be easier to understand that every purchase is another rung up a ladder toward your ideal commission. This won't have any of that taxable income stank on it, and if I don't have to pay taxes on it, you won't either; Slickbux payments will be nice round numbers with no change! This method is still preferred in most cases -- honestly, I'd do these stories this way exclusively if I could -- but now it's not the only way, so you can always start off with a simple paid piece and graduate toward the installment method later on once I've earned your trust! ^^
In other journals, I'll share big projects that are needing funding on a singular basis, and I'm going to be more aggressive with getting those taken care of -- especially when there's opportunities for your OCs to be featured! I'll also include floating short lists of ideas that I'll be more likely to accept story commissions of. This will be less me giving a full concept and more me saying the name of certain characters and themes, like "Helluva Boss characters", "Anal Vore", and such like that. It should be a lot easier for you to get commission ideas accepted and for me to stave off burnout if we feed the need for such ideas!
And to make it as easy as possible for everyone to submit an idea, I've put out a brand new tool for purchasing commissions from me: A Google Form!
SlickDratini's Story Commission Form! ^O^
Yes, I know I could have made one earlier. Still, better late than never! I've also updated my Carrd Page to account for all of the new information! If you're a tl;dr kind of guy,why the heck are you about to buy from a writer then the Carrd page should have all of the info you need collated front to back, start to finish.
Slick's Carrd Page! -- Please read the Terms of Service and Themes Accepted pages!
Slick's Story Commission Form! -- Click this link when you're ready to make a purchase!
The best part about this form is that I can take ideas ahead of time WITHOUT spoiling them and risking them growing stale while I work on other pieces. It's kind of like getting canned food instead of fresh food -- I don't have to rush your ideas to keep them from going bad, I can pop them open when I find the time and make some truly wonderful pieces!
With this format, I won't ever have to reopen or close commissions, I'll just have a bin of fun ideas to reach into! If I take your idea, I'll contact you for more information using the FA or Discord name that you provide! If I can't use the idea, I'll let you know about that too. If you don't hear back from me, then chances are that I'm saving your idea for another time, but that means it's likely that I'll take it if you're patient! Don't miss your chance to get your idea in my to-do list! The link is right below! ^O^

Thanks For Reading!
I'll be posting another journal later today with January's preferred themes, AND to talk up an ambitious comic that I'd like your help in funding! It'll feature many opportunities for financiers to get their OCs included, so get hype! With luck, it'll be funded before January's up!
Looking forward to writing for you again, everyone! Have a Happy New Year! ^O^
