When are you supposed to get better?

It takes a lot of time. There is no final level to art. You just keep improving. You'll get better tomorrow. And you'll get even more better the day after and the day after that. Keep drawing and in a weeks time you'll be better than you are today and in a month better still and before you know it you'll be an artist other artists and people who are just starting to draw look up to and admire. Just keeping going! Don't be discouraged <3

I wish it were that simple.

Some people end up stylistically appealing with the talent to make something iconic and others just end up with generic results like yours. You can pour your heart and soul into your craft and never reach anything that can be compared to even a fraction of Japanese gods.

It's not about appeasing the east.

It's that western artists willing make worse content for a higher price while complaining about how nobody wants to take their commissions, how AI made them obsolete, or that they didn't get enough likes on Twitter. Maybe they just didn't try hard enough, or maybe east Asian artists with less than a month of experience will still mog them because that's just how it is.

I hope you reflect and maybe get some help. Being a bully doesn't make your life easier, just sad. My art has joy and life. While I do enjoy creating character designs on bases that I've purchased to support various other artists I admire, 10 submissions out of 60 plus is not half my gallery. Anyway, if you want to improve your art, its really simple, just draw and practice. If you want to keep being a bully and trying to put other artists down well I'll just have to do my best to bring more artists up by offering my support and help.

This is super great advice! One of the reasons (even though I changed accounts) I keep the old ones and link to them so its a reminder of where I started and how far I've come and an inspiration to keep going.

Comparing yourself to yourself from the past is the right thing to do. If you do not do this, it may seem that you are standing still :3
