The lore story: The Afterlife
I haven't had an article like this for a long time, but I just wanted to share a piece of lore once again, how the lore is structured and, in principle, my fanfic world. I just have some ideas in my head about the continuation. Maybe it's related to the remake of Rakkushi EX, or the real continuation of Hurricane Chronicles, but I've long wanted to explain where you go after death in the world of the living, when your physical body dies.
Warning: This lore is also related to my religion, Ammism, and at the same time has a mixture of Christian, Buddhist, Shinto, Hindu and other beliefs. So if you see any references, you'll understand.
So, what happens after the death of your physical shell? The body dies, only the mind and soul remain. Every living being consists of it. The mind and soul are almost one whole, and it is immortal. And also, during your stay in the world of the living, karma accumulates, and depending on the amount of karma, you will have 3 paths: Naraka, Yomi, Heaven, which are divided into Christ's Paradise and Nirvana. Let's start with Naraka. Initially, this is hell from Hinduism. And as you can understand, this is the place where people with great negative karma arrive, it is so heavy that your soul is heavy because of which it cannot rise up. Naraka itself is something similar to an anthill, with different corridors and halls, a huge labyrinth, where even the Dragons themselves can get confused. So, you find yourself naked, where you are already met by the guards of this place, dragons called Naraks. And more often than not, they don't look like the lizard-like Anthro we are used to seeing. In turn, they lead to any of the judges who will judge you for your sins. A list appears from your mind, showing your crimes, from petty theft to murder and violence against the weak. For this, the judge reprimands you, sending your soul to one of the million-million torture halls, where these same Naraki will torture you. The types of punishment here are absolutely varied, taken from all over the world, both physical and moral and mental. The time of punishment depends on the time lived in the world of the living and the severity of the crimes, from ten years to tens of thousands. Time does not flow the same way as on earth, so you will have a lot of time to think about your actions. After you have served your term, the judge immediately appoints a future reincarnation through the wheel of fortune. And as soon as the result appears, your wounded soul moves into the being being born, and the mind immediately erases all memories of being in hell, but not completely, so that in the next life you have a more developed conscience, and so that you cannot repeat the same mistakes from the past life. And yes, Naraka has its own caste system, like in Heaven: Naraks are the lowest. Their task is to lead souls to judges and torture prisoners, thereby turning into a routine for them. Next is the Archanarak, whose task is to observe the process of punishment and, if necessary, intervene in matters. They are a kind of overseers who catch souls in cases of escape (yes, if anything, there is an opportunity to escape from Naraka, but these cases are few and far between). Rakshasa, the third rank, whose purpose is to observe the mind in the world of the living over mortals, thereby testing their will in sin. Shudra, the fourth rank, a kind of worker of hell itself, they already monitor the performance of various torture mechanisms, weapons, repair of various tools and so on. Vaishya, the fifth rank, plays almost the same role as Rakshasas, but unlike them, this rank does everything so that the mortal could not sin. Almost both ranks play the role of managing the actions of the mortal, but only the mortal himself has the right to decide what to do. So we can also say that it is this rank that carries the belief that spirits monitor his actions, but at the same time do everything fairly. According to mythology in India, it was this rank that brought the teachings of the Goddess of destruction Shiva. Kshatriya, the sixth rank, elite guard. Their goal is already the protection of Naraka herself, in case of emergency. Brahmaisti, the seventh rank, a kind of scribes, full of bureaucracy, monitoring the process of punishing sinners, the amount of karma, drawing up documents on various topics, for example, when a mortal will be reborn. Mara, the eighth rank, one of the highest ranks who monitor the order of the world itself, and if necessary, intervene in the world of the living. A striking example is Mara Shakyamuni, who intervened in the world of the living to save Kenshi from death, and at the same time giving him the opportunity to avenge his father. And yes, the highest ranks have the right to appear in the world of the living, if there is a need for it. Bodhisattva, a transitional one between Mara and Buddha. He studies, trains, becomes stronger, and when he passes into the rank of Buddha, he becomes the strongest. And so, becoming Buddha, Narak becomes the strongest of all the dragons in Naraka. Most often they personify the consciousness of any living being, be it the 7 deadly sins of Christianity, or Virtues, or any other emotions. Shakyamuni is also close to becoming the Buddha of Wrath, but Munch is the Buddha of Gluttony. And finally, at the highest point of the hierarchy, stands the queen of Naraka, Goddess Shiva (who is Giratina), who has 108 names, including Mahakala, Emma, Yama, and so on. According to various beliefs and mythologies, She holds Trishula, Vajra, a blade and a chakra made of Anti-Matter in her 4 hands, and She is able to destroy the universe with one snap of a finger, even without the permission of the Creator Gods. But at the same time, She is the main protector of the universe.
However, if you are not a true believer, have not done many good or bad deeds, or just went with the flow, and karma does not pull you down and your soul is not light enough to climb up, in most cases, like many people, you end up in the world of Yomi, a kind of purgatory, where the inhabitants live in endless melancholy, because they will not go to heaven or hell. Most likely, they will live here until the end of time. And what to do here? Basically nothing, you will either rot on the ground, shrouded in laziness and melancholy, or plunge into the "Filth River", where millions of souls flow, thinking about nothing, or become one with the world itself, become part of the walls, columns, and plunge into eternal sleep, never knowing happiness. Oh yeah, when you get to the world of Yomi, you will see a dark cave filled with sad souls that wander the world without a goal. And if you decide to leave the cave, you will find that besides the cave, there will only be a dark gray desert, with dead trees, bushes, and the wind that will blow you into the sand. And the sky is as if there is no sky, it is darker than night, the stars are not visible, there's also no moon. No, you can, of course, walk in the desert, but what's the point? You will just wander forever in the desert, and perhaps never reach its end, and most likely just fall exhausted and fall asleep forever, also becoming a part of this world. But if you have great willpower and you will never give up, then you will either go to Heaven or to Naraku, in order to finally be reborn, but before that you still need to suffer for some time in order to work off the punishment during life, but it is not as monstrous as if you immediately got there, and then you will be reborn in the world of the living.
And if you were a righteous person and sincerely believed in Kami, or any other Gods, while doing good to other mortals, then welcome to Paradise, or Nirvana. And so, when you appear, your soul is literally like a feather, you are able to jump high, like in space, or like on a trampoline. Heaven was divided into 2 forms, Christ's Paradise, where God Christ is, or Nirvana, if you had another god. Let's start with the first. The ruler, of course, is God Christ, or Jesus. Often, in the world of the living, he is depicted as Human, or as Anthro, a Ram, or Sheep. However, there, quite conservatively, you will not be able to relax much, there you will also sometimes have to abstain from lust, if you encountered this when you were alive. There is little architecture there. There are clouds, the sun shining eternally above the sky, you can still appear in the world of the living, but you will be in the form of a spirit, you will not be able to interact with people or objects, but you can also pass through walls. And although you will not experience hunger or thirst, there will be plenty of food, it is eternal. And yet, it is quite cozy in Paradise, and you will be happy forever. And now to Nirvana. It is almost like Paradise, but at the same time you see that it is a futuristic city with glass skyscrapers, where there are not even cars, since they are not needed in vain. The whole city stands on the clouds, from where you can see your world of the living. And in it, various kinds of Kami-Sama, or Junior Deities, rule, who monitor order, both in Nirvana and in the world of the living. There is no centralized government, since each district of the metropolis is ruled by its own Kami, and the architecture may differ from your idol. A striking example that naturally appeared in the Canon is Shira Yukimura, aka Xi Ra Yu, the Goddess of Earth and Fire and Amaterasu, the Goddess of the Sun. So Nirvana is more of a polytheistic place, with its own gods. And if in the mortal world you wanted to have a blast, with endless drinking, food and immerse yourself in lust, then this is possible and the Soul and Mind will no longer receive negative karma, except if you really start to ruin the lives of local residents or Kami. So they are able to expel from Nirvana. And although Paradise and Nirvana are almost the same thing, bliss after death, there are some differences in it, and these are not only the order and architecture, these are angels. If Jesus' army consists of Angels who were originally mortal, but swore an oath of eternal service, then in Nirvana the angels are robots. So Christ has an army of about 10-20 thousand, then Kami has more than a billion units together, and the figure is not exact, since it changes very quickly depending on the situation. Both types of angels have halos. But if the Heavenly angels have them in the form of ordinary shining hoops, then the robot angels have each halo with its own pattern, depending on the rank. And both angels have almost the same caste, just like in Naraka. Angel, or Guardian Angel, is the lowest rank, so he is closest to mortal people, helping on the way. At the same time, in Nirvana, the cheapest type, so it is numerous. Uses laser weapons for close combat, or firearms, depending on the purpose. Archangel, the second rank. Slightly stronger than an ordinary angel, acts as a guardian of the gates to Heaven or even the police. Principality, the third rank, guardians of cities and states on Earth, capable of using powerful plasma, nuclear weapons of mass destruction against the enemy. Power, the fourth rank, elite guards, guarding important objects, having strong armor. Virtue, the fifth rank, masters in creating weapons, constructing buildings, and the bearer of knowledge, walking forges. In Nirvana, they can have the form of huge tanks, airplanes, or even walking bases. Dominion, the sixth rank, bearers of knowledge, carrying the will of their Deities, helping rulers, scientists, sages. Sometimes they, from Nirvana, can reach 100 meters. Throne, the seventh rank, guardians of Kami and their children, if they exist. They are most often in the form of machines of important purpose, be it a supercomputer or a vehicle with its own weapons. Cherub(im), the eighth rank, almost the strongest weapon, which can be quite huge, reaching 1000 meters. Most often they play the role of superweapons. Ophan(im), transitional from Cherubim to Seraphim, and this is only in Nirvana. Most often they are cyborgs, but at the same time they have quite a powerful weapon, capable of defeating the most dangerous enemy. An example is Saint Alexander(el). Seraph(im), the highest rank. Most often they are depicted with 6 wings, but this is not entirely true, since they can have different forms. If in Paradise, they always have 6 wings, then in Nirvana, they are completely different, from 2 to infinity. The most powerful angels. Nirvana also has Saints, a kind of generals of each army. And each rank has its own Saints, who were also ordinary mortals before, swore allegiance to serve forever. Saint Alexandril was just such a person, as well as Saint Nova\Novuil. But then come their real commanders, the Demigods, who are most often the children of Kami, who were born from mortals and live with their parents or separately. An example is Chibiterasu, the son of Amaterasu, who appeared earlier in the fanfic. And above them are the Kami-Sama, who personify various natural phenomena, various factors of living beings, emotions and others. There can be hundreds, or even thousands of them. Nirvana is huge, not everything has been studied yet.
Phew, that took a long time to think up an afterlife that no one would believe in except me. Well, I told you everything I wanted, and most likely this information will be useful for future HC fanfics.
